Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and Neuroscience

Image
The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and Neuroscience was founded on two key tenets: to provide recent turn-around research articles freely for research, teaching, and reference purposes, and to provide recent turn-around research articles freely for research, teaching, and reference purposes. This allows anyone to copy, distribute, transmit, or adapt the work as long as the original work and source are properly cited. Crossref will assign a DOI to all published articles. The journal discusses theoretical and conceptual aspects of neurology such as Cognitive Neuroscience, Perceptual and Cognitive Processes, Higher Cognitive Processes, Human Development, Clinical Psychology, and Creativity Problem-solving. Original articles, short communications, case reports, letters to the editor, editorials, and mini-reviews will be considered for publication in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and Neuroscience, an international English language, open-access online and print journal. Clinical Developments in Hematologic Malignancies and Future Obstacles

Image
Overview Over the past few years, clinical blood cancer research has expanded significantly, and arguably no field has attracted as much attention as immunotherapy, particularly treatment with immune-checkpoint inhibitors like the PD-1 antibody nivolumab for classic Hodgkin lymphoma. Even though all of these cutting-edge medications show potential, CAR T cell-based therapies have been the focus of the most excitement among immunotherapies for hematologic malignancies. Rapid and profound responses have been attained employing CAR T cells targeting B-cell maturation antigen in multiple myeloma, demonstrating the therapeutic potential of these approaches. As it relates to extending response and averting relapse, ongoing research is being done to improve safety as well as efficacy. According to Anderson, efforts to increase efficacy include modifying CAR T-cell products to choose for central memory cells and controlling the host to attempt to prolong the lifespan of the immune response in

Assessing Anxiety and Attitudes Towards Arithmetic and Algebra

Image
A new research article, curated by Dr. Darshini Shah Jasani and titled “ Assessing anxiety and attitudes towards arithmetic and algebra ”, has been published. The study aimed at assessing the anxiety levels and attitudes of 68 students of Grades 11 and 12 studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program towards the math components of arithmetic and algebra by using a quantitative correlational study. Two survey instruments were used and the first section consisted of an achievement test for each branch of arithmetic and algebra. The second section consisted of an eighteen-item five-point Likert scale where the anxiety levels and attitudes of the students were assessed. The results showed that a negative correlation existed between anxiety levels and performance for both, arithmetic and algebra and a weak positive correlation existed between attitudes and performance. Additionally, significant differences existed in anxiety levels and attitudes between high and low performers f

Local Anesthetic Pharmacology and Frequently used Clinical Practise Recipes

Image
Abstract Drugs called local anaesthetics are frequently utilised in clinical anaesthesia. For this class of medications to be used safely and to its full potential, understanding its pharmacology is essential. There are two sections in this chapter. The pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and chemical and physical characteristics of local anaesthetics will all be covered in the first section. Examples of regularly used doses and additives for various peripheral and regional anaesthetics will be discussed in the second section. We'll also talk about how to handle toxicity brought on by accidentally injecting local anaesthetics into the bloodstream. Introduction Drugs called local anaesthetics to stop electrical impulses from travelling through excitable tissues. Myocytes and nerve cells are among these tissues (both cardiac and skeletal muscles). Electrical impulse blockade is the cause of analgesia and anaesthesia. Lidocaine and other topical anaesthetics have Class I antiarrhythmi

Cardiac Failure Treatment by Infection the Committee

Image
Cardiovascular disease is still a major cause of death and misery worldwide, despite medical breakthroughs. This is due to the growing and increasing population. High clinical thinking expenses are linked to it, and typical office readmissions almost completely prohibit it. Interventions from the contamination the board may help with monitoring people with a cardiovascular breakdown in a more proactive, protective method than drug treatment alone. Heart failure has a negative effect on a person's sense of well-being, is a constant source of emergency defense concerns, and is associated with a high risk of death. Basic medical care is the best course of action, but some people may also benefit from additional support from organizations designed to help people over time rather than just in an emergency. Your doctor might advise fixing or replacing the valve if a malfunctioning heart valve is the root cause of your heart failure. The valve can be repaired surgically by reattaching the

When Having Forehead Surgeries, Applying an Antibacterial Gel to Promote Hair Fall

Image
It is necessary to separate and arrange the hair. Most of the time, the hair is still present, which makes it difficult to apply and maintain the drape. Additionally, incorrect hair sanitation may raise the risk of infection. In light of this, the authors of the current study examined a method for managing hair in the operating room using a sterile gel. The hair around the lesion can be organized and sculpted to the proper shape before surgery using a sterile medical gel as a hair styling tool. It is common to keep the hair in situ after surgery on a mass or scar on the scalp unless it is impossible to avoid doing so for safety reasons. Additionally, any hair that is left behind makes draping more difficult and time-consuming. As the patient undergoes surgery, hair may also fall into the surgical region, prompting a change in the drape's placement. These issues have been addressed using various strategies that have been created. The use of chlorhexidine-isopropyl alcohol as an anti

Pediatric Neurosurgery - Surgery Current Research

Image
The area of the field that deals with infants and children are pediatric neurosurgery. As was already established, the pediatric neurosurgeon spends a significant amount of time treating hydrocephalus. Treatment of additional congenital malformations, neurotrauma, functional issues like spasticity and epilepsy, children's cerebrovascular illnesses, brain tumors, and congenital deformities of the spine and spinal cord are also addressed by pediatric neurosurgery.  A larger head circumference, full and tense fontanelles, and wider cranial sutures are signs of hydrocephalus in neonates. The child may exhibit poor eating and lethargy, as well as extraocular anomalies that impair upgaze. Using CT, MRI, or ultrasound, a diagnosis is made. Infants and babies with hydrocephalus may be born with it or develop it later in life. Acquired hydrocephalus typically communicates, but congenital hydrocephalus is typically obstructive. Prematurity or post-infection (meningitis, intrauterine toxoplas

Volcano Eruption: A Spectacular But A Deadly Phenomenon of Nature

Image
What is a Volcano? A volcano is a crack in the crust of a planet, such as Earth, that allows hot lava, volcanic ash, and gases to escape from a magma chamber beneath the surface. Volcanoes are most commonly found where tectonic plates are diverging or converging on Earth, and the majority are found underwater. The Mid-Atlantic Ridge, for example, has volcanoes caused by divergent tectonic plates, whereas the Pacific Ring of Fire has volcanoes caused by convergent tectonic plates. Volcanoes can also form where the crust's plates are stretching and thinning, as in the East African Rift and the Wells Gray-Clearwater. Upwelling diapirs from the core-mantle boundary, 3,000 kilometers (1,900 miles) deep in the Earth, are thought to cause volcanism away from plate boundaries. This results in hotspot volcanism, such as the Hawaiian hotspot. Volcanoes are rarely formed when two tectonic plates slide past each other. As ash and droplets of sulfuric acid obscure the Sun and cool the Earth'

How we can Deal with Cancer?

Image
As we go toward the sun, our weight throws a shadow behind us. This is how hope works "Love, hope, and also the spirit aren't halted by cancer," the statement reads. Today is a gift, which is why it's called "the present." Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. Cancer could be a condition during which a number of the body's cells grow out of management and unfold to alternative body regions. The human body, which contains trillions of cells, can develop cancer almost anywhere. Human cells typically divide to create new cells as needed by the body. This method is thought of as cell growth and multiplication. a brand new cell replaces the associated previous one once it dies or is broken This process is known as cell growth and multiplication. A new cell replaces an old one when it dies or is damaged. Sometimes, this systematic process fails, causing damaged or abnormal cells to proliferate when they shouldn't. Tumours, which are tissue lumps, co

Lung Cancer - European Journal of Clinical Oncology

Image
Uncontrolled cell division in your lungs is what causes lung cancer. It is a normal part of your cells' function to divide and create more copies of them. But occasionally, they undergo changes (mutations) that lead them to continue producing more of themselves when they shouldn't. Your organs eventually develop tumors from damaged cells that continue to divide uncontrollably and form tissue masses. The term " lung cancer " refers to cancers that begin in your lungs, most commonly in the bronchi or bronchioles, or small air sacs (alveoli). It's customary to refer to cancers that originate elsewhere and spread to your lungs by their original location (your healthcare provider might use the term "cancer that is metastatic to your lungs" instead).  TYPES OF LUNG CANCER  Although there are numerous cancers that affect the lungs, the terms "small cell lung cancer" and "non-small cell lung cancer" are the two most common. Non-Small Cell Lun

Research Article: Techniques for Fertility Preservation in Patients with Breast Cancer - A Current Approach

Image
A new research article, curated by Dr. Mariam Faruqui Shati, Bipasha Ahmed, Md. Khorshed Alam, Ashikur Rahaman, Angel Tincy Abraham , and Swati Sharma and titled “ Techniques for fertility preservation in patients with breast cancer - A current approach ”, has been published. The currently available methods of fertility preservation for patients with breast cancer include cryopreservation of embryos, oocytes, and ovarian tissue and GnRH agonist treatment during chemotherapy. As the number of women who wish to become pregnant after being diagnosed with breast cancer increases, it is necessary to consider fertility preservation in these patients. However, medical doctors may be unaware of the importance of fertility preservation among cancer patients because most patients do not share their concerns about fertility with their doctors. The main aim of this study is to focus on the importance of discussing fertility preservation with breast cancer patients. Patients with malignant disease

Leukemia, Symptoms, Signs and Causes

Image
When the DNA of a single bone marrow cell changes (mutates), it prevents the cell from maturing and performing correctly. Leukemia cells frequently behave abnormally while interacting with white blood cells. The type of leukemia you have, your age, general health, and whether the disease has spread to other organs or tissues all affect how you are treated. A blood malignancy called leukemia is characterized by the quick development of abnormal blood cells. This abnormal development happens in your bone marrow, where the majority of your body's blood is made. Leukemia cells are often young or still developing white blood cells. The word "leukemia" comes from the Greek meaning "white" (leukos) and "blood" (haima). Leukemia typically doesn't create a mass (tumor) that may be seen on imaging tests like X-rays or CT scans, unlike other cancers. Others are more common in adults, while some are more common in children. Development of Leukemia The delicate

Cold Agglutinin Disease (CAD)

Image
Overview An uncommon autoimmune condition known as Cold Agglutinin Disease (CAD) is defined by the presence of large amounts of circulating IgM-type autoantibodies and cold-sensitive antibodies that attack red blood cells and cause them to agglutinate and undergo lysis. It is a special type of autoimmune hemolytic anemia where antibodies only bind red blood cells at low body temperatures, usually between 28 and 31 °C. Red blood cells from affected individuals clump together when their blood is subjected to freezing temperatures (between 32 °F (0 °C; 273 K) and 50 °F (10 °C; 283 K). These proteins, known as IgM antibodies, ordinarily assault microorganisms (agglutination). Hemolysis the eventual premature destruction of red blood cells leads to anemia and various related signs and symptoms. Cold agglutinin illness might have an underlying condition such as an infection, another autoimmune disease, or specific tumors as a primary (unknown origin) cause or secondary (caused by the underl
